Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

I don't think anyone would ever classify Ridley as shy. It used to be though that if you asked her to sing or if you commented on the song she was singing, she would clam up. She is 6 now (going on 7) and has decided she loves to sing. We were leaving Walmart after picking up some last minute Hallowe'en stuff and she broke into a song about ghosts and goblins the second we stepped out the door. Did I mention it was loud? She got a lot of smiles that day. I have to admit she stunned me. Shy one day, and singing to the masses at Walmart the next. Go figure!

Her current favourite is this...

Hey, ho, nobody home
Meat nor drink nor money have I none.
Yet will I be merry

She has been singing this all day long..everyday.
Overall though I'm thrilled that shes enjoying singing so much. (cause I'm too shy to sing in front of people)

"Santa has a blog??" or "Its started already???" (take your pick)

Oh yeah. A podcast too!

HoHoHo!

Now that the American Thanksgiving has been over for about 10 minutes or so, here we go again. Seriously. Our first major snowfall was last night/today and Ridley and I got invited to a carolling party. Thats not something I would do on my own, but the child loves to sing so a-singing we will go.

Oh and a-shopping we must go this weekend. Not only is Christmas coming but Ridley's birthday is the week before! I have to get party planning.

Ridley is sick tonight. She has tummy pain so I've got to keep an eye on her for the next few hours. Coffee time. To those fortunate enough to be able to sleep tonight... :p

Xbox 360 live gamertag

I added my xbox live gamercard to the sidebar.
I would have picked a different username and avatar though. (Scott signed up while I wasn't looking) I'll change the avatar to a pink haired girl I think. ;)

Project Gotham Racing 3 (yeah, more gaming stuff)

Surprise, our local EB got it today!
The game looks great and plays great!
One major complaint and one minor. First, there is no mini available!! What were they thinking??? (I'll have to rely on Forza for my mini fix)
Minor complaint, you can't blow up things like you can in Need for Speed - Most Wanted.
If you're going to crash in the game, you might as well make it worth it.

Thats it for games until Animal Crossing for Nintendo DS comes out in December. Ridley is getting a pink DS for her birthday or christmas so we'll be able to play together over wifi. We have played a lot of Animal Crossing (Gamecube) together over the past couple of years so this is going to be great fun!

I've been posting a lot of game stuff I know but I am not really a hardcore gamer. Once in awhile something comes along that catches my attention though. :)
(and theres been a lot of cool stuff coming out lately!)

I don't hate my ipod anymore. (more xbox 360)

Ok, I have never really hated it but its been the source of more frustration for me than I care to recount.

I plugged my ipod into the xbox 360 and it automatically showed up! The xbox totally takes over the ipod meaning you can use the remote to scroll through tunes and create playlists. And even better...it worked the first time I tried it!!! No struggling with software updates and crap. Realising I wouldn't have to mess with the ipod to make it work, I walked around with a silly grin for almost an hour. Seriously, whoohoo! (yeah I know, simple minds...)
This is the way things should work. Now if I could transfer music from the xbox to the ipod I would be super happy. I bet there will be a hack for that shortly.

Something else I'm diggin' is that you can stick a cd in the xbox and it will rip it to the hard drive. (which you can also store photos on).

Games wise, Kameo is a bit boring. I'm looking forward to Project Gotham 3 of course and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I wonder if MS will enter into the handheld gaming console market anytime soon? The Sony PSP is a fantastic system that interacts with the PS2. MS could do some really interesting stuff with the xbox 360 and a handheld. (xbox 180? haha)

My blog should be blue

Your Blog Should Be Blue

Your blog is a peaceful, calming force in the blogosphere.
You tend to avoid conflict - you're more likely to share than rant.
From your social causes to cute pet photos, your life is a (mostly) open book.

(mostly)...ha!

What can I say? Its a rainy, boring day here. :)

Wind's blog posting about Sam's hair wrap and rose tattoo reminded me of this way cool Barbie alternative.

Xbox 360 and Mercurys turning retrograde???

I don't exactly know how this mercury turning retrograde works but in the past month not only did our tv go kablooie, my mother and Scott's folks both lost tvs! Not only that but the phone died and the van needs brake work.
Sheesh! No more broken stuff for a bit ok????

On a more positive note, the tv is repaired and the xbox 360 arrived first thing this morning! It came with the game Kameo and it looks pretty darn cool!! Need for Speed Most Wanted or madden football should be arriving in another couple of weeks. Project Gotham Racing 3 isn't out until the 22nd unfortunately.

Title, ENT, Music, POS TV, Xbox, TV shows, Books, Brrr!

Check out the email style title. :)
I just thought I'd post a big fluffy update on me and some of what I've been up to.

I went to see an ENT (ears nose throat) doc yesterday. Finally!
So my balance sucks. (not a surprise) I have to go back for an ENG. (electronystagmography) I'm not sure why. I'm on week 3 of 6 of the antibiotics. I'm hoping by week 6 its all resolved.

The good news is my hearing is (according to the dr.) perfect! Whhhattt???? I've been a headphone junkie since I was 11-12 when I got my first walkman. Honestly, I've been through more sets of headphones than shoes!!! Plus add all the loud concerts and I've always played music/guitar loud.
To say I was very pleasantly surprised would be an understatement.

I found some cd's while going through stuff in the basement.
Two favourites I had forgotten about were the Mortal Kombat Soundtrack and Loreena McKennitt - The Visit
Its been nice getting reaquainted with them both.

The tv is messed up. The blue gun isn't working like it should so the picture is all yellowish. Hopefully it will be fixed ASAP because the XBOX 360 will be here any day now! Thanks a lot Murphy!

I picked up series 8 & 9 of the show As Time Goes By the other day. I think series nine is the last one so I'm a little sad that I won't have any new ones to watch. I've also been watching "Huff".

Book wise, I'm starting George R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice series this weekend.

I forgot my 180's this morning so my ears ache like hell! The street we take on the walk to school is a freakin' wind tunnel.

So thats it for today!

So ummm..yeah...happy 6th anniversary to me and umm ebay?
Excuse me, I seem to be tearing up.

Silly spam.

Hallowe'en

We stopped by Momma and Poppa's house on Hallowe'en and were surprised to find a witch! She looked a lot like Momma and gave us chocolate so I guess she was a nice witch. With Batman there to protect us, (complete with sparkley, light up dress shoes) we weren't scared anyway.

Unfortunately, Batman fell victim to a tummy ache so we called it a night early.

My camera has been taking weird pics lately so I'm thinking its nearly fubar'd. It survived a 4 feet drop today thanks to the otter box it resides in and I can only hope the jolt will have fixed it rather than made things worse. I don't think Santa reads my blog but just in case, I've been good this year. :)
