Two people calling 'em out!

I love what these people are doing! (file this under non fluffy..heh)

First, Cindy Sheehan. I saw the commercial on CNN the other night and nearly fell out of my chair in shock! Check out the link below to see what she said!

  • Cindy Sheehans message

  • Second, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Is global warming to blame for hurricane katrina's intensity? Regardless, our environment is screwed! I think its great hes speaking out and his name surely helps him be heard.

His article entitled "Deadly Immunity" is amazing.
I appreciate him speaking out about something that I feel strongly about. I insisted we delay Ridley's vaccines because of uncertainty about thimerosal. Here in Canada, they no longer use thimerosal in childhood vaccines. At the time of Ridleys birth, they still used thimerosal in the US, where she was born. Please note that I'm am not against childhood vaccinations. I am against using potentially unsafe agents in them. Ridley and I both got shots last year before she started school. She had the usual round and I got the chicken pox vaccine.

    Fluffy post

Only one more week until Ridley starts grade 1. She'll be in school full time this year. I can't believe summer is winding down, its gone much too quick. Ridley has learned to swim (doggy paddle, shes still in lessons) and we took the training wheels off her bike last weekend! Shes also learning to tie her shoes. She has changed so much over the past year. She loves Pokemon, swimming, scootering, and Bratz (ugh!! we're trying to demystify them now) She desperately wants "high heels" (platform shoes) and loves to dress up. She can't wait to get back to school but wishes she wasn't so tall (4'2)and that her feet weren't so big (2-3). I think she'll find that a lot of her classmates have caught up to her this year.

Thankfully she still loves good dolly, my stories and cuddling. I didn't cry last year when I dropped her off for her first day of school but I think I probably will this year. Sniff.

For me, job hunting awaits! Its been 8 years since I've worked out of the home. (not counting a part time job I had) I'm thinking of getting my A+ certification and applying for some tech work. I've been doing really well on the practise tests. I can't believe the stuff I learned years ago is still relevant. (ok maybe it isn't but on the tests it is)

I need to learn to use some spiffy wordpress like Sam and Wind so I can have categories. Fluffy personal updates would be a good category. :)

    IGN's Top 100 Games

Click on the above title for the story. Its a nice walk down memory lane.
They gave Star Control 2 its due (#17) but made no mention of Starflight! (and no Bubble Bobble either)

    Looks are deceiving..

They look sweet don't they? Careful, this 6 year old girl and her 92 yr old great grandma are trouble!
They viciously chased me down the hall at great grandmas retirement home yesterday. (note: flip flips are not ideal footwear when videotaping and walking backwards)

Ridley rode on great grandmas walker while great grandma pushed her..I didn't have a chance! I'll post some video this week. (maybe, how embarrasing!!!)

    ipod love/hate

If it ain't broke...well you know!
Apparently, I've never heard the term before.

To summarize, ipod firmware update + itunes update + ipod won't connect + external hard drive = fubar'd ipod with songs that skip every second!

    Never never again.

2 days sans ipod is much too quiet!

I scoped out mp3 players this weekend (while plotting my ipods untimely and mysterious demise).
The Cowon iaudio x5 looks great!
I can't wait to see what they have by the time I actually replace my ipod.
